Adair County Ambulance District (ACAD) serves Adair County, Missouri .  Headquartered in Kirksville , Missouri , ACAD provides ALS (Advance Life Support) service for 2500 calls per year. ACAD provides mutual aid assistance to surrounding counties as well. ACAD employs over 30 full and part time highly dedicated staff and also serves as the headquarters for the Northeast Missouri division of Air Evac.

The commitment to excellent patient care is the driving force behind our operation.  Each year we conduct ongoing continuing education courses for our already trained and skilled professionals.

EMS courses are conducted at the ACAD Training Center, which are a collaborative effort of the Adair County Ambulance District, Kirksville Area Technical Center, and Northeast Regional Medical Center . The current and ongoing class levels offered are EMT-Basic High School , EMT-Basic, and Paramedic. The training center also conducts courses for First Responders, BLS, ACLS, ITLS, and PEPP.

The EMT’s and Paramedics of ACAD serve the students of the training center as preceptors, and are required to meet certain requirements before they are qualified to do so. Once the students have met the class requirements, and hospital clinical hours, it is time for them to complete their required ambulance clinical hours.

The men and women of ACAD will ensure your ambulance clinical hours are best utilized to enhance your education and your next step into your EMS career.
