Courses:
Paramedic
Paramedic courses are typically offered once every 12-18 months. The courses are taught at the ambulance district and clinicals are done in cooperation with several organizations in the area. If you are interested in the paramedic training program please contact Assistant Chief Mihalevich or Julie Roberts at the KATC (660.665.2865).
EMT-B (Adult)
EMT-Basic (adult) training is conducted as a night course and at present is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. EMTB training is offered at a minimum once yearly, however; dependent on need it can be offered more frequently. If you are interested in EMTB training please contact Assistant Chief Mihalevich or Julie Roberts at the KATC (66.665.2865).
EMT-B High School Class
The Adair County Ambulance District in cooperation with the Kirksville Area Technical Center and Northeast Regional Medical Center is proud to offer EMTB training to high school seniors. This course is held daily at the ambulance district for the entire school year, upon completion and turning 18 years old the student is eligible to test for the National Registry EMTB certification.
First Responder Class
Continuing First Responder training is conducted once a month and ACAD periodically conducts an initial 40 First Responder training program. If interested in First Responder training please contact our First Responder training coordinator, Dustin Crump (660.665.4807).
BLS, ACLS, ITLS, PEPP
The ACAD Training Center will conduct the above classes throughout the year. Currently there are no classes scheduled. Please come back to this web sight periodically as the class schedules will be posted. If you have a group of five or more participants in need of the above certification, please contact us for course consideration and scheduling.
AT Still University
The Adair County Ambulance District assists the students of A.T. Still University with training needs in the area of "Airway Management", "IV Therapy", and we are working on a class for the Sports Medicine Club in regard to sports related injuries.
