Request For Standby

Adair County Ambulance District is proud to be able to assist the citizens of Adair County during large capacity events where there is an increased probable need of onsite Healthcare.  ACAD offers a level of coverage available for most large public events and they are listed and described below.

Dedicated Ambulance Coverage:

This level of event standby coverage includes one ambulance with two personnel on board. This level requires the staff and equipment to remain onsite of the event until the end, without interruption. Event coverage may be interrupted in the event an onsite patron needs transported to a medical facility. The cost of this level of event coverage is $75.00 per hour with a minimum of one hour. Travel time from the ambulance base, to and from the event is also considered standby time and subject to the same charge rate.

Non-dedicated Advanced Life Support Ambulance Coverage:

This level of event standby coverage includes one ambulance with two personnel on board. This level does not require the staff or equipment to remain onsite of the event. Event coverage will be interrupted in the event of an offsite ambulance need that cannot be maintained by other scheduled crews. There is no cost for this level of event coverage.

Submitting this standby request does not guarantee an ambulance standby. You will be contacted by the Ambulance District to confirm your standby request has been received and we can provide the requested service. If you do not hear from back from the ambulance district please contact us at your earliest convenience at 660-665-0000. ACAD will attempt to staff additional personnel as available for Dedicated Standbys requested within two weeks of the event date. These types of dedicated standbys will take priority over any non-emergent ambulance response needs. In the event that a dedicated standby crew is called away to an external immediate and emergent need, every effort will be made to restore the requested standby coverage as soon as possible. Billing for these standbys will be adjusted accordingly.
